Victoria's seacrit reef tank

Well hello all! It's been amazing going from a 30 gal nano to my new 125 gal.
the move went well with only a few minor losses. It all began June 19 the evening before the move.
We drained the tank into a 30 tube added about 15 gallons of fresh aged saltwater. We took water out of the 30gal and added it back from the fresh saltwater. We did this so there would be no shock for the corals. Then we removed the contents of the 30 gal put it in the back of my car with a inverter that ran a heater and a powerhead. I kept tabs on the temp as we did a trail run the day before to make sure the temp would stay.
then we were all pack so we could leave at 3am.
We did at 3am the drive took about 10 hours. Temp held at 77 and all coral looked good. We did relize that after taking apart the 5 year old 30 gallon there was no way it would fit back into the same 30 gal. When we arrived we moved the tub inside the house. I had already had 30 more gal of new saltwater made up from our last visit. We went out looking for a new tank and found a 125 with stand for 695. That was just the price of the tank and they quoted us includeing the stand. So the were very kind and gave us the stand and tank for that price. I like it here already.

Here is a picture before we broke down the 30.

Here is the 125gal now you know why we needed a new tank.

We found some interesting stuff behine the rock work. I got to look at my merlina sp. in the full as it was behind the rocks in the 30.

Sorry for the bad photo. I was in a rush. Now I have plenty of time to dial my new tank in and share it all with you.
I had my large procillapora start to rtn and ended up cutting it up. Lost my mandrian. Other than that all faired well. Corals are starting to color up again as they did lose some color. I will get more LR as time goes by. I did go through a very short HA outbreak but its gone now. I have been working on getting my water prams stable and in order, so I've been testing everyday. Ph has given me so trouble (low) so I change about 5 gals a day. I use a higher SG 1.027 so I can add alot of kalk to get the ph up. So far it holding at 8.0 --8.1. Will keep this thread updated as time goes by.

it must have been painful to tear apart the most beautiful nano tank apart that I've ever seen. I'm impressed....a big change! Look forward to seeing your next beautiful tank develop!

That 30 was an amazing tank. I'm sure the new one will be, too.

Thanks for sharing.

Well tommorrow I will be getting some more live rock so I can get some sort of aquascape that look natural. I bought some from someone here in AZ, He will be dropping it off sunday. I bought it sight unseen so I hope its good. I'm kind of doing things backward do to the move and the need to get a tank quick. My husband is not moved here yet so he only had limited time to work on the tank. We make a good team he does the equipment and I do the husbandry. I will take some picture after I aquascape. Tank is stable except my dosing pump is broken so I've had to do everything by hand. Parts are in the mail.
Sg 1.025
temp 80
ph holding at 8.0 with kalk drip
alk 10.2
ca 480
mag 1480

Only problems I am dealing with at the moment is some surface film. Thats due to no overflow. I'm dealing with it by surface movement. Do to the way we moved we will have to drill the tank after the fact. I'm not happy with that but I will deal. Main goal right now is to get tank stable.

New tank is comming around. Added some more LR It was great stuff! I also added a new light just went with the same one I had before Orbit 150 Mh/ 2x 65 w pc. I did that because they fit right on top of the tank. I have had good luck with that light and did not want to up grade (YET). Here is a picture.

Fixed the dosing pump. All prams are in good order. I also added some more fish another clown (accepted by the other one) and 3 firefish. Thats it for now. Now I wait. See how everything does.

Awesome looking tank Victoria! What is that orangeish tabling coral on the far right side of the pic? That is beautiful. I want to add a tabling coral to my setup and shopping for ideas.
