Your rock work is great! Good idea. How did you place the center rock to make sure it will stay inplace? Did you use any ties, etc?

Welcome to TR!

Thanx guys. I did not want to paint the back just in case I ever wanted to look back there. Plus the coraline will cover it in time along with the PVC pipes. I looove the 14k's makes the tank look so good.

I am listening to the podcasts Rob how is your Fungia doing. I also had to take measures to make sure the shrimp did not take food from my 2 plates. I would feed during the day but just watch to make sure the shrimp had enought food to keep them busy while the plate was eating.

The rock is just stacked on in self, just took a very long time to get it just right and stable at the same time. To add it is a very large piece of flat LR. I was able to hand pick my rock, As I helpped the LFS onwer land it. I also run small favors so him, usally airport runs.

once i started keeping the shrimp pre-occupied, all has been good.

Looks great Clayman! Thanks for sharing!

I'm also thinking about doing a closed-loop on my new system and was curious about the plumbing. Do you have some pictures describing the setup better? How are you getting the water out? I can see that you have four outlets towards the top and four towards the bottom. Are some of them taking in and some pushing out ? Or is all the intake going through the overflow?
what kind of pump are you using for the closed loop?

The four oulets at the top are the returns from the sump. They run from a OM squirt. The closed loop pulls from a inlet in the tank and returns to the four lower oulets. Also run through a OM squirt. The pump on my CL is a Gen-x PCX-40.

Here are some pics of the plumbing and intake. ( the in intake is the lone pipe towards the middle right side of the tank )

Cool - Thanks Clayman. Are you happy with the current that you've produced? Does it feel random enough with the SCWDs? What volume of flow are you reaching? 15-20X?

I fiqure with head loss around 15-17x turn over. With the Oceanmotion 4way squirts it is very random and the flow is quite strong. My tank is well suited for SPS. I actully have a hard time finding lower flow areas for corals that want them.

If I was not renting the house I am in, I would have built a fish room. But since I can't this tank is completely moveable when the time comes. I will toss most the sand when I move. As I will be building a much larger tank when that time comes, Around 300 gallon display.

Great aquascape...LOVE the bridge! That tank looks amazing! What kind of maintenance do you do on that tank? Lots of WC's...minimal WC's...Do you have a sump? I didn't see one in the images. Do you run a Calcium reactor? Just wondering on the technical stuff...

The sump is under the stand is a converted wet/dry. I will post some pics. I do 10% WC every week, I find it esaier to do more smaller amounts than lesser larger amounts. I do not use a Ca reactor yet, Still dosing for now.
