Bob21115's 100 Gallon Bubble Wall

This project came together rather quickly so I dont have to many build photos.

This tank sat in front of my 300 in the living room for 4 months and then on the front porch for a month or two.

This summer I got all the projects on my list done and setting this tank up was next. Actually the project was doing a built-in closet and dresser with the tank in the middle.

As with all my tanks its plumbed together in the basement and after taking a few of the down I moved one of the lights to this tank.

Aquascaping this tank was done by drilling a 5/8" hole threw the Live Rock and putting a piece of PVC pipe threw it. I was really surprised how easy it was to dill the Live Rock. I cut out a piece of plywood the size of the bottom of the tank and stuck 3 pieces of PVC standing straight up. I started put the Live rock on to each of the pipes building up a nice rock wall.

Live stock includes 3 yellow tangs, 1 yellow eye kole tang, 2 black and white clowns. Really no coral to speak of yet.

The wall isn't done yet. I have some molding to put up and I have to figure out what color I'm going to stain or paint the wall. I also think I need to put something above the tank.

hey, how often do you see a gob stopper like that, well done bud, i love it.
Looks like you piffed an old tank & stole a marine portal from the public aquariums place. outstanding.

enough room for 4 tangs full grown though?
how do you get access to it?
enough air flow gets in there, or will some sort of extraction be on the cards?

When they start getting bigger I'll move them into the 300.

After seeing this and your fantastic cube, I just have one question.

Um, can I come live with you? My wife and kids probably won't miss me too much

WOW

That is actually REALLY cool looking

My questions is, does the MagFloat still work on that rounded surface like that?

LETS SEE SOME EQUIPMENT PICS!

The mag float works ok. I need to add a white scratch pad to it.

As far as equipment all 12 of my tanks are plumbed together into 2 150, and a 100 gallon RubberMaid stock tubs.

They all have thier own lighting and power heads for flow.

All tanks a feed by a Reeflow Hammer head. They all gravity feed back into the basement.
AquaC 1200 Protien skimmer
Deltec PF1001 calcium reactor.
ReefKeeper 2 controller for Lighting controll, temp and PH.
Deltec FR509 Deltec Fluidized Reactor

I'll try to take some pictures in the next day or so of the equipment.

Just between you and me, you know what this site needs, a decent competition where we, the people with extra funding & an abstract nature can run a muck with our designs. you my friend, are pushing the envelope as we speak. Hats off to you bud.
