Cool Pumps and Circulators

I have my eye on a few replacements for the pumps I have. I have a J&J 550/hr (NOISY ASS ALL HELL) and a small BS Pengiun that I bought for a freshwater tank before I got into salt, works for salt but really well... sucks. I have been checking out some prop style circulators instead of the normal pump type ones. I don't know the brands off hand but the flow rate vs power is excelent. Also the size of the flow really blows the very direct pumps away. Anyone with some opinions on that? Also as stated in the pooply designed products threads, a MUST HAVE is magnets not suction cups and the Tunze and Korolia have them.

Thanks,
Brian

i have 2 korallia #4's and i LOVE them. they do not move from where i placed them, AND you can rotate them so you can better direct the flow from the 4 output sections better. and for the price ... i would rather buy them AND some corals than 1 tunze.

I don't have any Tunze pumps, but I love my Korolia 4, and I have a modded MJ 1200 with a prop that works pretty well. I'm going to eventualy pull my crappy Aquaclear powerheads out and put in another Korolia or two.

Both of my tunze nanostreams had issues, but they replaced parts and I like them. I have a 6045 and a 6025. I did notice that on difference in the two is the 6045 has less restricted flow into the prop area. Make me wonder what would happen if I dremmelled it out some on the 6025, because the motor unit looks identical and the other parts are the same.

Anyway I liked the size of the Tunzes. They are just a little smaller. Though I think the smallest koralia might be smaller but the biggest is even larger.
