Bobby, the Sunpod only has a 70W 14K HQI bulb and moon lights. I guess that's why it's 14K. I'd really love to have a 150w 20K.
i am going to have a 150w with actinic Current USA fixture for sale pretty soon. i just picked up a 175w pendant for the frag tank. i have to put it all together then the 150w is coming down, but you know me ... it could be sitting there for a few weeks, lol.
The temp never got above 80 over 8 hours of the lamp burning, So that's good. I'll still be adding whatever MJ comes on the Remora skimmer, and another pump in the display to increase flow, so I'm getting pretty close to the heat threshold without some kind of chiller. I can probably blow a fan across the sump to squeeze out a little extra cooling, so I'm not really worried yet.
The XM 20k bulb really looks great, and the few zoas and other things in the tank looked really great. I think I'm going to turn the lights down to 4 or 6 hours and ramp back up to 8 hours. By the end of the day, some of the zoas and all of the xenia were starting to close, and I don't want to bleach the stuff still in there.
Maybe if things go well this week, I'll take the LR sittiing in my sump out and move it to work next week. Soon thereafter I should know about my promotion (my next interview is this week ) so I;ll know if I should go ahead with the reworking of the rockwork or wait a bit.
manual intervention if you have these in an office environment. I have a perminant sign on the door asking for it not to be closed by the cleaners, & iv'e tappered with the AC timer so it runs longer , got to buffer at least some of that temp, offices esspecially near a window can radiate a fair emount of heat no matter which side of the world your on. Just take a sec & simpathise with my case....heat rises & everything in Oz is upside down
the only thing hot in the bush is - bush women, annually we round em up & sell them to patrons overseas, usually to the canadians because you cant understand them ether..lol
