100g
Well, the 40g Mantis tank is cycling. Now to turn our attention to the 100 gallon. This one will take a little time because it needed a lot of work. It's 48"L, 20"high and 24" deep... excellent for creative aquascaping. Still needs a hood but we are not sure on the lighting setup yet.
On the tank itself we are working out buffing out the scratches. Started with 1500 grit paper to the 2400 grit and onto the 4000. Can you say "arms about to fall off?". Then switched to the electric polisher and some Novus number 3. That's where we are at now. We have yet to use the Novus 2 and 1.
Buffing = Boring.

This isn't a reef ready tank ...... yet. I have the overflow to be installed. Guess we'll wait until after she is buffed.

The
sump came out from under the 240 gallon. We're not sure how it's going to end up being rigged but the bioballs will
NOT be there when we are done.

There seems to be something missing... Cool clear box you got though.
Can't wait to see it filled up.

Wesley, I actually thought you were teasing me..... me and bioballs have a long standing hatred.
Haven't decided on the closed loop. Do I want two?... One on each side of the center overflow? Would I want them turning on interchangeably?
Would a single serve me better?

Would be easier for me to decide if you would box it all up and ship it to me so I could get a better look at it.

The pumps we have for this tank is an MD 40 RLT Imaki pump (rated at 750gph at 4' head) and a Little giant 3-MDQX-SC which is rated for 1100GPH.

Can you believe we are still buffing. I will never NEVER recommend anyone buying a "fixer-upper".
We will be finished this weekend for we are the last solution.
But I found the plumbing scheme I want to use. Here's a pic. Except I'm not going to hard plumb all the way down to the pumps... the vibration would be maddening and then your design is also pretty permanent.

The one white elbow throws everything off.
LOL Every time I see a setup like that I can see tons of mini disasters waiting to happen.

geez...that's some plumbing scheme. Can you add some arrows to it to see which holes are in and which are out? I like it - I'm trying to do something similar with my new tank, albeit without drilling into the back of the tank (glass!). I'm trying to do it by fitting the
PVC piping down the back of the tank and having kind of a vertical spray bar as part of my return. The other returns are over the top of the tank (spider like). It looks kind of similar to yours, but not as solid.
Can't wait to see it up and running!
