A friend that's helping me move right now* just mentioned it might be easier to glue rock to the glass if you let coralline build up a bit first to "roughen" the surface.
* I'm not lazy just reading TR while tending to my carpet anemone and various corals which are living in a couple of Rubbermaids for the next 24 hours or so.
I just added some new cardinal fish (captive bred)! I will post a pic here soon but this morning i woke to find one trapped in my overflow! Oops! Okay, time to get some sort of screen.
Hehe, i wonder if it went to sleep only to find itself washed over the top!
I have no idea how i am going to get him out.

It sounds cruel, but when my juvenile Sribbled Angel somehow mad it into the overflow, I just reached in and grabbed him with my hand (gently) and lifted him out and into the tank. There simply was no way to get a net in there and safely catch him. Not the greatest solution, but it worked and he was no worse for the wear!
My first plan was to teach him to jump out of the water to retrieve food from my hand. Once properly trained, I could move away from the overflow and he would leap out, grab the food from my hand, and make a safe splash landing back into the tank ... all while getting perfect marks from the ever-so-hard-to-impress German judge. I abandoned that plan when I realized it was the beer talking.

LOL. I will submit this to Mythbusters for you
I managed to get a net down in there and scoop him up. You know V, i was thinking about pulling the plug and letting it go down the PVC waterslide. Probably would have been okay, albeit quite stressed out.

D'OH It happened again! This time a clown went over the side.
Okay, time to hit Lowes.

Out of some boredom, and that i had some extra cash wanting to spend itself toward flow, i typed up a spreadsheet to see what of a couple powerheads gave me the most flow for the wattage, and for the price.
This is what i found, and it is by no means comprehensive, but the calculations are easy enough:
This was rather telling i thought. The only real competition is between the Koralia and the Seio M2600. The Seio gives you far more gallons of flow for every dollar you spend, which makes the price okay to me, but it sucks a lot of power for what it does (relative to the Koralia anyhow). It is hard to beet the Koralias in terms of efficiency, able to push out 130 gallons with one watt.
I really like the Koralias magnetic suction cups and have seen them used successfully at frag swaps so i purchased two of those.
I will make this chart much larger and see what i can find. One thing i have seen so far is a trend that the larger pumps are a better value in terms of price per gallon and watts per gallon.

A couple of nights ago i was awakened by my dang powerhead sucking in a whirlpool of air and making a loud, annoying noise. So i rolled out of bed and unplugged it. No problems, right?
Actually no, i had actually unplugged my return pump and not the powerhead in my sleepy daze. The sump/fuge has all my heaters in it, so the tank had only the T5 lights and the grace of God to keep it warm. And for 2 days!
Yes 2 whole days it took me to notice this. Ohhhhh man.....
I am very very lucky: nothing died or even really looked stressed. The tank temperature dropped to 71 (F), low, but not deadly.
Wow, i will have to make a sacrificial offering to Posideon soon before my luck runs out.

I have my return and powerheads all plugged into the same power strip which is very handy for feeding. My K2's came with RED labels on the cords so it is easy to not grab them by accident. I have everything else labeled with tape but I really should re-label them with more distinctive colors.
