Those rock blubber. How long ahve you had the pair and what are you feeding them? I know very little about eels, other than I caught one once while fishing! It wasn't one of those, if it was I would have quit fishing!

nobody i know is willing to stick their hand in the tank. the teeth is bigger in real life. i've had them for nearly 2 years. i feed them a variety of fresh seafood, mostly shrimp and shellfish that i shuck. last week i fed them miyagi oysters and 2 lobster tails.
Sorry blubber, I just read the answers to my questions in the Strange thread you mentioned. Awsome specimens though. I can imagine the look on my wifes face if I came home with a bag of those!!

yeah, they are scary. when it was bagged up at my lfs..........only the manager and owner was willing to handle them, and the staff is the best in the area!
I'm not sure what Workman's Comp would say if a fish bit your finger off!
if i can get someone to take a video, i will show you how that jaw can EXPLODE a three inch cherrystone clam!. i shuck all the shellfish now because of the mess.
wow, ugly & expensive!
its be nice to recoupe some outlay on day if it was posible to breed them!
how much of an area do they need to breed, ive seen eels twist themselves in a mangled mess when in frisky mode
I have to say your tank brings back some very bad memories!!!!! Back in the late 70's I had a Aquairum Maintance company, and one of my customers had a Dragon. I told him he must keep it well fed or I would not take care of the tank. Well he was away on vacation one visit and I notice it was very hungary!!! I thought it best if I fed before I cleaned his tank. The thing jumped out of the water and grabed my finger. (I think I wet my pants) It took a while to get it off my finger. Lots of pain for days. So be careful!!!
