How to tell a fish tank from lizzard tank?

A co worker is giving me a 75 gallon lizzard tank and would like to turn it into a fish tank.

Are all lizzard tanks water proof?

usualy the only differance is the dimentions, lizerd tanks are usualy more square, where as fish tanks are rectangular. fish tanks are made to display more, and lizerd tanks are made to give them room to run around. i dont see why it wouldnt hold water. best of luck to you my friend.

Should be waterproof but not sure if the glass is as thick as a water aquarium. Especiailly with a larger tank the glass may not be as thick and you could end up with cracking from the stress of the weight of the water.

inachu Iv had many lizzards lizzard tanks in my life and have put fish in them the problem like brian said is that the class is to thin. I found that problem out with a marble and it wasnt that pretty I would suggest not putting fish in it because of the thiness of the tank.
Thanks Raymond

P.S. if you could take a pic of it that would help

I hope they did have an aquarium the whole time not a stock lizard tank. It just made me think because my 75g glas tank has some THICK glass and with just needing a basic "box" for the reptile, I could see where they have very thin glass...fingers crossed here because FREE is great

Maybe you could turn it around for a few bucks to put on a larger tank.

Here they are the same tanks usually, but your right, some people use thinner glass to a) cut down on costs & b) its not dealing with pressures.

All depends on the dimensions & quality of construction, whether they have propper bracing ect ect.

Why not do a tropical island lagoon style tank so your not filling it to the max. You can get some wicked designs with abit of creativity going!

Just an idea anyways

i would check out the silicon seams also depending on what kind of lizard some have long sharp nails and could have damaged the seal on the seams.
