Exclamation Surface skimmer trouble

Hi there my 30gallon reef tank has had absolutely no problems with my CPR aquafuge2 with protein skimmer. my only complaint is that im still seeing a huge amount of film on the top of my water, i have looked for surface skimmers but can only fine one thats not of very good quality. Do any of you guys have any suggestions or comments i would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Cory

you need to break the water with a power head. it also helps out with the gas exchange in the tank.

also welcome to Talkingreef.

ok well i have a hydor korali 1 powerhead and its is the best by the way...but neways i have it shooting up towards the surface of the wayer but it seems only half of the film on the tank is gone. and yes thats the only surface skimming pump ive seen but my supplier was telling me about a 20 dollar stainless steel or something of that nature surface skimmer thats got a powerhead built into it so it wont hog my rio on my refugium. i cant remember the name and hes on vacation the rest of this week... darn my luck. newho, does anyone know what im talking about? and thanks for the previous comments guys

also, on my cpr aquafuge2 refuge, it has a skimmer as well and im noticing the skimmate is very watery, its dark green but not sludgey like i see on others tanks, does it have to do with it being new or what?

Cory to TR.

I have more trouble keeping the surface of my nano clear of film than I do in my bigger tank. Increased surface agitation always helps.
