Is this a green algae bloom?

My tank has been up and running for about two months now. All seems to be going well. The water itself is still crystal clear. Since I added additional lighting, the greenish algae on the inside of the acrylic seems to grow much faster. I cleaned almost all of it off on Saturday, three days ago, and it is back on the inside. Is it normal for it to reaccumulate so fast? All of my tests seem just fine, and everything seems happy and healthy. The Xenia is going nuts and the CandyCane seems VERY happy, and bright green. What do you think?

you could be getting a false PO4 reading (phosphate). when there is algae in the system you can get a false reading because the algae is consuming the phosphates as fast as they are produced and there is nothing to show up on the test.

are you using tap water or RO/DI water ??

RO water for evaporation. Scripps water for 10% water changes every Saturday.

try testing the scripps water and see what you get. i know a guy that was buying walmarts bottled water ... and killed his entire tank. he tested it and found COPPER !!

Yikes. Will do. For now the best I can do is make sure everythihng is functioning properly, my water is okay, and physically remove as much as I can. It seems that this happens quite often as a tank is just settling in.

i agree, it does happen quite often with newer tanks, but you be better of to catch it early IF there is something going on.
