Hichhiker of my own...

Well, I turned on the lights this morning before dawn and saw a nudi-looking creature. Probably 2 inches long, I'd say. Anyone know about it? I will get some better pics if needed.

I'm worried it's Tritoniopsis elegans. It's really beautiful, but I'm feeding it to my trigger if not informed otherwise...

Mine doesn't really look like the specimens pictured, but it's the most common hitchhiker and can contain orange. I wish I knew my way around my camera better, it's really beautiful.

Do you have a tripod? Can you turn the flash off? Does it have a closeup setting? This is probably an icon that looks like a flower. You will get the best photos using one or all of these techinques.

Get it out... It is a dendronotacean, possibly a species of Marionia. Dendronotaceans are generally obligate predators upon or eaters of soft corals or similar animals.

Here's a pic of mine. Not the best shot but I didn't realize my tripod kept slipping.... DOH!

That's IT! It's really beautiful (and safely in a tupperware container), and I was hoping against hope it was going to be okay. I guess I'll offer it to my trigger.

Carmie, I don't have a tripod, and just discovered the "flower" setting a minute ago. My camera is a Fuji S5200. I took a few snaps in the tupperware, but it hasn't opened back up since scraped off the glass so isn't very impressive. It appears identical to your photo, though. Thanks guys, you've been a huge help!

No problem. I put mine in a picotope and tried to feed it.... lasted for a few weeks and then died.
