Red Moss like stuff on my live rock

I have this red moss like stuff growing on my live rock. It started out as a little patch, but it is starting to spread all over the initial rock and onto other rocks. Any idea what it is? Is it something I want or how do I get rid of it?

Seahorsedreams will become famous soon enough
Is it mossy/ferny or is it single strands coming up from the rock?

It is mossy, just like the moss on a tree or rock, but reddish and in salt water.

i've never inspected moss on a tree or rock so i am unsure if it is single stand or fern like. Both types can form a matt covering.

Geez, I didn't ask for a pic. There are two main types that fall under the category "Red hair algae". I'm going to guess it's one of those varieties

it's not red cyano is it?

that being said, we have a patch of some type of very short, mossy (as in fuzzy like scotch moss) algae on one of the rocks in our reef, altho it doesn't seem to be spreading.

Here is a link. Some people call it "Cotton Candy alage" If this is the stuff you will need to get some Turbo snails to get rid of it.
