What are the best species of macro algaes to put in a seahorse tank?

Are there any special tips on pruning macros other than taking a pair of scissors and clipping away and can pruning be done in the tank safely and not have to be done outside the tank?

Any macro is nice. Caulerpa grows very fast and needs to be pruned faithfully. Halimeda and heavily calcareous types which seem to be harder to keep.

I just reach my hands in and pinch of the extras. No problems with doing it in the tank.

Caulerpa Prolifera is nice. It has a "grasslike" structure that looks real natural in the tank. I've never had luck with Halimeda because in seahorse tanks, which are typically "smallish", the swings in calcium levels have been bothersome for me (and the Halimeda). C. Serrulata is nice too, but has to be trimmed more often than the prolifera.

I like the red grape kelp (Botryocladia sp.) myself and so do the horses! Mine also have Chaetomorpha in the tank that they will grab onto.
