coraline? or diatom?
hello!
uhh please tell me this is some sort of orange coral. but my gut tells me its
diatom .....is it something terrible?
any help would be appreciated!

If it doesn't rub/siphon off I would say it is
coralline .

To me it looks like red slime with a coating of
diatoms . but thats just my opinion

i agree with Wes, but also try the recommendation Seahorsedreams gave.
if it blows (or siphons) off, its not coraline

well ..looks like its CORALINE!....with some
diatom , but its definately not
cyano ...isnt that from fish? cause idont have anylol

No red slime is pretty much from
phosphates . I have also had undetectable
phosphates but still had some slime. You can get slime from overfeeding, getting a new rock with slime and water that isnt R/O. Not all water can give you red slime but some city water will.
If you want pull the rock out and check the red stuff if its a film that seems like slime then its slime
lol . if its like a paint on the rock then its coraline.. i would have to say the texture looks like slime

ohh..well i touched it with a glove on..and it didnt come off and i kinda scratched at it..so i think its just coraline with
diatoms on it?

yea if it didnt move and you cant peal it off then i would say it coraline..

Looks like deep red coraline with orange encrusting sponge.
