does anyone have a good solution or idea on how to mount a light on a 92 gct ?
should i just let it lay on the glass top or should i try to raise it above the glass?
also should i leave the glass top or loose it all together ?
That sounds great but do the make a kit for the coralife 36" lunar auqualight deluxe series
i already have the light from my current tank and dont want to have get another
Then the light with legs sitting on the glass may be your only solution. Before you invest in a chiller you might want to see if you can keep the temp low enough with a fan.
My solution to lighting over my 92 corner could be considered a little on the "not so pretty" side but it works.
I made a frame from pvc about 32" wide and about 12" deep. Then attached one of those plastic coated wire closet shelf pieces to the frame. After that I hung my 250w MH from the middle and placed the ballast on top. It ain't the most sophisticated of set-ups, but I'm sure if someone wanted to put a little more thought into it, it could be presentable.

bernie do you have to run a chiller with your setup, and what is your temp of the tank?
i just bought a NIB 250W HQI (Double Ended) MH Parabolic Reflector Kit with DE holder and uv glass. Also to fire it up an ARO LMH120-250 watt HQIBallast from a guy that bought it and never used it. would this and the corallife be good or too much for the tank?(by the way it was $75 shipped, was this a good deal?)
No chiller, and temps stay pretty stable at about 79... What you can't see is the ceiling fan a little forward that is running full blast 24/7 during the spring and summer months. I do get a lot of evaporation though. One good thing about the pvc is you can cut the legs long to begin with and then lower the lights slowly to whatever height you want, and if you go too low, $2.50 gets you more legs.
