Lighting for LPS corals?

Well... I've been researching for quite a while now about lighting and have become extremely confused!!! I have 20g long (30"x12"x12") tank setup with 2 true percs and a 6 line wrasse and I want to be able to keep mainly LPS corals with some softys and whatnot but have no idea what kind of lighting to look for. The types of LPS coral that i have in mind are....
Frogspawn Coral
Hammer Coral
Torch Coral
Bubble Coral
Elegance Coral
Plate Coral
maybe xenia also
(obviously not all but i want my lighting to be capable of providing enough light for any of these)
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it immensely!!

You always have the choice of Metal Halide, but with the corals you plan to keep you will be more than fime with power compact or T5s. Do you plan on making your own canopy or purchasing a whole unit? Frogspawn, hammer and bubble coral, if given the right conditions can grow fast, so know your limitations on space.

As a min I would say a 2x55 watt PC but you would be better off with a MH and Atinic combo, cuse you have more adaptability as you advance in the hobby.

I agree with you steve, but he may struggle with high temp with his size tank.

I am in highschool so I'm on a tight budget and when i was looking i was drawn more toward the power compact or T5 but i don't know.

I can't see you going wrong with T5s or power compacts. I would just make the suggestion that you get a fixture that will enable you to have 10ks and actics with seperate powercords. I have never used T5s on any of my tanks but untill recently I have used Power Compacts with great success, and with the described corals you plan to keep.

Yes, that would be a good choice.

That will work but you will not have the actinic veiwing option. You may want to invest in the legs or create your own little stands to keep this fixture off of the glass. It will produce a good amount of heat.

That setup has one actinic bulb.
30" 2x65W Coralife Aqualight CF hood, 2x 50/50 (Act/10K), -Straight Pin

I agree with getting the legs.

That set up has 50/50. one bulb has both actinic and 10k lighting, so you will not be able to view it seperatly with this fixture.

If you want to view actinics separate, this may be a better option

There you go Koby! yea Gwen!! That's what I was refering to. You will be much happier with a setup like this one, plus it has the lunar lights for nightime viewing.

Gwen has found the light for you. 50/50 Bulbs look too white/yellow for my tastes. Wish I knew that before I order some for my 48" fixture.

I would call MD and ask them about legs- they are very friendly.

It seems legs are sold at some websites
