Phosphate question?

I just upgraded my tank and add a phosphate reactor. I add Rowaphos It had turned bluegray. It was black when I first put it in. what does this mean? Is it full of phosphate and needs to be changed? Or is it normal? Thanks
Victoria

TidePool Daydreamer is an unknown quantity at this point
everything i've heard about it is that that is normal, it should stay that grayish color. you have to keep an eye on the levels in the tank, and when your phosphate levels start to rise again, its time to change the Rowaphos!!!!

I've heard RowaPhos is better than PhosBan, especially with the grain size. Anyone have any knowledge or is it just a personal preference?

I have tryed Phosban and I like rowaPhos better. It seem to remover the phosphate very well. Nothing ever leaches back into the tank.

I like the Warner Marine Phosar HC....it is denser, harder, less prone to crumbling and more durable.

You can buy the same stuff in bulk and for a lot cheaper (which is essentially GFO made by Bayer in germany)

I have not used ROWA, but I like the phosban I used, and I particularly like the GRO from Bulk Reef Supply I'm using now. Cheap and effective, how can you go wrong
