Piced up a few things this weekend. Nothing terribly exciting, I guess. Lets see, a decent sized piece of Oregon tort (been on my wish list for a while). A nice piece of efflo. I think that will eventualy be a centerpiece. It's a nice looking table.
Hmm, what else was there? I could swear there was something else....
Oh, right, a 220 with a custom dual overflow, drilled for a closed loop, stand, canopy, extra 400w ballast, reflector, socket and bulb, Icecap 660 ballast, 4 T5s with reflectors, and 2 1" Sea Swirls with eductors !
OK, OK, you guys are merciless. I"ll get some shots of the tort and efflo later today. They were both given to me because they were not doing well in their current tanks, so they look a little rough. The tort had been located directly in front of a powerhead and so has ome tissue loss on one side, but it's not RTN or STN and it should come back with no problems. The efflo just wouldn't color up for the previous owner.
The 220 is still set up, and won't be in my possession for a couple of weeks. The current owner is waiting on the LFS to finish drilling his new 280.
Did I mention I didn't pay a dime for either of the corals OR THE TANK!
ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME ??!! how can you NOT pay ANYTHING for the stuff you got ??
i think i might havde to get the stick out ... just for fun now !!

Well, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time for the corals, and I'm getting the tank and gear in exchange for doing the 220 - 280 upgrade for the current owner.
Also picked up a new wireless headset so I can listen to TRL tonight.
Yep, I'm totally psyched. My time line has been bumped a bit on the 220 though. I was over at my buddy's house last night helping him frag up a 50+ head of ORA duncans and he told me he has decided to pass on the 280 since the LFS is really dragging it's feet on getting the tank in and drilled, and so has decided to order a custom acrylic tank from a manufacturer a couple of hours away. I guess he really wants this to be his last upgrade, so he has placed an order for a 96" x 36" x 30" custom acrylic tank. that's 450 gallons! Anyway, turnaround on the custom tank is about 8 weeks, so I'm in a holding pattern until the new tank is manufactured. it'll give me more time to get my materials together anyway, so I'm not complaining. It IS free after all
Oh, unfortunately the oregon tort RTNed a few days after being placed in the tank, but I have another piece lined up, so no big deal.
Here's a pic of the efflo right after I got it. It's coloring up a bit, and I'll keep updating as it improves.
Oh, I also found out that my buddy has decided to light the new tank with pendants, which means I will also be getting his brand new lumenarc reflectors
