I can't give you any personal experience with the RSM but they seem like a nice all in one tank. I have heard complaints of the power center of the system failing but I don't know how widespread that is.
If I haven't already said it to TR.

i have heard the same things. i have seen 2 here that have had that problem. of course Red Sea takes care of it, but that takes shipping time.

Red Sea Max

When I downsized my 90G I did some research into the Red Sea Max and the JBJ Nano 28G HQI. The JBJ was a good option for me because it had halides and I had several SPS corals. Hindsight I would have probably gone with a 38G standard size tank and purchased the lights, hang-on type refugium, or drill the 38G and setup a standard sump type Fug.

I guess it comes down to opinion and in the long run and there are several of those out there along with different options when setting up a Nanos. My advice would be to do lots of research and explore every otion.

I had bought 1 for $300 from someone, I never set it up, I actually ended up seeling it for $450, but it looked nice. He said he like it, he complained about the overflow adjsuter. He said he was always messing with it. Other then that he liked it. What I noticed is that I think he had dogs and when I turned on the lights on time the fans were abit loud, and it looked like there was no easy way to clean it. If you got the $ and you want an all in one setup, it looker kosher to me.

Please don't use the lid to test your tank parameters like they have set up for you to do... that's the craziest thing I have ever seen.... encouraging one to test with toxic substances right over your water.

Maybe I'm being silly, but I give them a thumbs down because of that alone... it's like encouraging bad habits... and funny it fits their brand of test kits = encouraging bad practices for their profit.
