What is an easy way to raise the PH in about 300+gal of water? My Ph was at about 7.75 last week so i ran the Skimmer air lines out the window to get some fresh air in the water and that raised it to about 7.8-7.9. Whats another way to raise it? I would like it to be around 8.2 or so. I have some Kents PH buffer stuff but it only seams to raise the alk. Any ideas?
What is the alk? How long after lights on are you testing? pH is lower during the dark cycle & increases through the light period. I drip kalk but it will raise the alk too.
My Alk is usually around 8-9 but after adding the Kent PH Stuff it jumped to 12.6 so i stopped adding that. Ya i know all about the light cycle thing. I have my fuge and one frag tank come on at night when the others are off so the PH stays pretty steady and doesn't drop much. I have the Aquacontroller so i check the PH everytime i go in the fish room and it stays pretty steady at about 7.9 now. I just calibrated the probe and did a manual test to make sure the prob wasn't screwed up..
Oh yeah, sorry I didn't mention Ms. Wages, that is all I use. Make sure you get MRS. WAGESŪ Pickling Lime <br>16 oz. (454g) in the plastic jar, not one of the other products as there are multiple varieties. You can find it in the canning sections of the store.
Well i haven't gotten around to trying the kalk yet. But i did turn on another one of my skimmer pumps, it has 5 pumps on it and i have 3 running now. The ph raised up to about 8.1. Its gradually getting higher
Water changes. I change about 20 gallons or so a week some times 40 gallons. My ca is still at 430. I have a Ca reactor but i haven't set it up yet sense the Ca is still in good shape.
