Pumps on a CA reactor??

Hey there,
My reactor has been down for the past couple of days, and since ive been working, today was my first chance to check it out...

(BTW, its a TUNZE automat calcium reactor)

The pump was fried...... Like the housing would have belonged in willy wonkas factory if u know what i mean.

So anywho, after an hour or more searching, no luck. Although the pump is a tunze product, i cannot find the pump on their site.

I was just wondering what would happen if i saved myself some money and put a different pump on there?? Im not so knowledgable on the reactor topic so i have no idea what more or less flow will do for the reactor :s

The pump is between 86-120 gph (state on the pump). It is a small pump, like one you would find on a little water fountain, so, since i have a couple ponds in my backyard and spare pumps galore, it would be an easy fix.

So yeah

Any light that can be shed on this is appreciated, thanks guys :d

You need to get in touch with Roger Vitko, the US Tunze rep. He's on ReefCentral every day (look under Tunze). He'll send you a replacement right away. I wish I still had his Email, but can't find it.

Well, after about an hours work of modding the specialty pieces from the old pump, to a little 10 pump i had laying around, its working better than before!

The replacement pump they showed me is basically a small nano pump, the model i put on it is actually the same model they wanted me to pay $50 for!

If something goes wrong ill end up ordering a stock pump, but this should work fine

sweet. good work SFry
Not everything has to genuine . Although keep in mind the manufactures R&D on their products is based on certain models, so keep the flow-puts in the same ball park just to be on the safer side if you havn't already!
