Feeding with Phytoplankton

Hi everyone,

I have seen alot of articles on how to grow your own phytoplankton, but am still unsure on how to feed it to your tank. What are the recommended ways to feed phytoplankton to your tank? How much do you feed at a time? How often? Do I need to shut off my skimmer?

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason and to TR.

I use DT's Phytoplankton which is concentrated. I feed a teaspoon or so every other day. I turn off my return pump but leave the in tank powerheads (and skimmer in the sump) on.

I also use DT's Phytoplankton. I feed about 1/8 of a cup once a week (I have a 240) in the evening after the lights go out. I also turn off the return pump but leave the circulation pumps on. This is also the day I spot feed the corals. After 1 hour or so, I turn the return pump back on.
