No pods in tank,. Reseed??

Well since I accidentally killed all the pods in my tank along with a few fish a weekand a half ago, I noticed I have no pod life in my tank now. I shine my flashlight in the tank at night and normally in the crevices of the L/R I can see them swimming, there is nothing swimming around now. How detrimental is it to my tank with no pods??? I plan on either buying a bottle of pods or going to LFS and buying a ball of chaeto with pods.

Do you have any fish that are obligate pod eaters?

The only fish I have are a saddleback ad a green clown goby which I believe he is so small that he probably looks to eat pods. I'm just wondering as far as detrius goes, if the pods really help out in getting rid of waste.

the pods will return, given time. some pods feed on algae, others are predatory and will eat other pods and leftover food. as far as them cleaning up detritus, you won't really notice much difference.

that being said, you can certainly add some to the tank to kick start the populaton.
