geo reactor with pinpoint controller

hi yall,
i just got my geo single chamber calcium reactor with a pinpoint controller and i had some questions on setting up the reactor and the controller.
first the reactor, do both pumps stay on continuously? do i need to plug any of these pumps into my controller for any reason?
second the pinpoint controller,
there are two outlets in the back of the controller. one for the solinoid and another for something else. anyone know what that something else could be? and which plug should the solinoid go into.

if you had experience with either of these. you input would me most appreciated
latez
