You gotta love indicator corals!!!

I run the full battery of tests every Friday religiously and as always this Friday was no different every thing was fine. Well Monday I look at my tank at lunch and none of my green star polyps are out . Immediately I break out the tests and I have an ammonia spike so I start prepping water for a change and as I’m looking around my tank I see something in one of those hard to see back corners. As I’m staring at it my wife asks “what’s wrong you look like a concerned parent.” So I tell her then she starts looking and comments hey where’s the BTA? Sure enough that’s the purple black blob I’m looking at in the corner . It kills me to loose my BTA but those green star’s save my tank! So I siphon it out do a 20% and keep an eye on the tank. Hours later they are back out and happy. My point is indicator coral are GREAT!!!!!

Seahorsedreams will become famous soon enough
Yes, you are right. As hardy as they are overall they sure are fast to show a stress response.

Sorry about the anemone.

Well my tank is still suffering! Last night I saw a crab laying dead on some LR. The problem is I didn't put a crab in my tank! It must have been a hitch hiker. I haven’t put any LR rock in about 4 months. All my levels are normal unless there's something I’m not testing for and I should be. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate <0.5, alkalinity 3, PH 8.3, Phosphate <0.25, Calcium 430, slanity 1.025. Am I missing anything?

I know it's a silly question but you use RO/DI water right? I'm only asking because I did a dumb notlong ago that nearly wiped my tank out by useing RO/DI water from a unit that didn't take out chloromines.

I am using RO/DI BUT i've never checked Chloromines!!! I assumed it did, but all my water ages for about 24hrs before it goes in my tank. I have a 15gal foodsafe drum that i fill before i go to bed turn it off when i wake up then it dosen't get mixed or go into my ATO till that night when i get off work. I hope that helps but i have the feeling i'm wrong. is there a test i can buy or do i need to have it tested?
