Buff top- off water

Hi,

How exactly do you buff your top-off water?, do you use the same buffer for RO/DI and salt water?, do I have to use it right away? Or that water can be stored (RO/DI with buffer)?.

I ask because I was reading the label on the Aquarium Pharmaceutical P 8.2 Buffer and its says that the product should be use on hard water (with minerals) and that using it with soft water can give unwanted results.

I use Marine Buffer from Seachem, and it does not say anything about using the product on fresh water.

well the first question is do you need to buffer your top off water?
i know it may seem stupid, but just need to check.

now, to my knowledge you can store it for some period, i would store it to long, but you can. i would make up a 5 gallon bucket of top off water, and adjust the PH as needed. and use that. why thats used up do it again...

you should not have to worry about hard/soft water..
this term refers to the mineral (and stuff) content of the water. as long as you are using an RO/DI unit 99.9% of this will be removed, so its not a real concern.
