Need base rock.
I need about 100 lbs of base rock for my new 72 gallon tank. I have ordered from
http://www.hirocks.com before and had good luck with them but their site (or at least the page where you buy stuff) had ben down for quite a long time. Dose any one else know where i can get base rock for a good price (like 50$ for 30 lbs)?

Have u tried emailing them? Maybe they aren't aware of the problem.
If no luck, try searching for "Walt Smith" rock. Walt sales to wholesalers, but people all over the US are selling his hand made rock.

It's where I get my cheap stuff,
www.exoticfish.com
Is also good price wise. I wouldn't call it "base" from either place since even thier super cheapie stuff aint half bad
live rock .

Our rock never sits in our warehouse for more than a day or two in our curing tanks before we are completely sold out, insuring every delivery too be the very best it can be.
I am not knocking this rock and the price seems good but be aware that it can not be fully cured if it is only in the curing vats a "day or two".

Yeah, I know that for your purposes it doesn't matter, but I thought it was good to point out for someone who might not know that. And, I got a kick out of the advertising and wanted to share the chuckle.

No, UPS Ground cross country was about $40 for fifty lbs. The company suggests " One thing "will" affect the quality of your rock and that is how fast you ship it. Although the majority of our customers ship via UPS Ground (UPS Standard for international customers) just excepting the fact there will be less color or life and more recurring required (not a huge issue, especially when setting up a brand new tank), next day or over night air cargo shipping is the only method we recommend. " at a cost of $63 Second Day and $89 Next Day.
