Curious- What vitamins, additives are you using?

Just wondered what additives people were finding helpful or hindering. Also, what vitamins people prefer for the health of their fish.

For fish I use nothing mainly because I have none, but for corals I use Oceans blend 2 part additives from the cultured reef and it has helped me keep my Calcium and Alk at what I need it to be for the corals to grow. I would recommend it to anyone. But like anything you add to your tank it is best to get a test kit for it and see if you actually need it. If you don't have a test kit don't add it. Because you may overdose or add too much and then you will have a problem.

Like Ray, I only dose 2-part. I have yet to find anything else to be necessary. IMO, a lot of the stuff on the market available (with the exception of additives for calcium and alkalinity) are not only unnecessary, but can, in some cases cause more problems that whatever benefit they're supposed to impart.

Was there something specific you were thinking about dosing?

Only this I am dosing is oceans blend 2 part. I do plan on using a garlic additive for feeding though, but currently there is nothing to feed as my tank is just getting through its cycle

Test weekly. you need to know what your parameters are in order to properly dose. I dose Cal, alk, and Mag using Via aqua products. they are cheap and work fantastic for me. I also use a Kalkwasser which works wonders with keeping all three in check. Good luck!

Absolutely nothing. If my calcium demand is up I use a calcium reactor other than that a good salt mix and water changes. Its way too easy to get a system out of whack by adding suplement and additives you have no need for. Everything you need is in a good salt mix with the exception of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium which can be done either with a two.thre part or a reactor as I do.

I drip kalk daily and add Mg as needed in my 54. I dose Ocean's Blend 2 part (includes Mg) in my nano.

Other than that the only additives I use are garlic and vitamins. I only use a few drops of each since I think that more could add unwanted nutrients to the tank.

I use chewable Flintstones daily and my fish get Zoe, Selcon and garlic in their food. I only use other additives when needed and that would be Ocean's Blend. I don't need often as water changes are frequent.
