I am going to get one for my 35 FOWLR which is what it became after the crash. My question is will a Saddle Valentini Puffer bother a serpent star? Besides hermits, ornamental shrimp, and small snails what inverts might disappear if in the tank with this little guy?

Hello HD! I have always had a weekness for the Dogface Puffer fish, but of course they aren't reef safe. I am so glad that you did your research on the puffer you were interested in and see that he will not fit into your life at this time. Now if we could just get others to be patient, research and think things all the way through like you've done.

thanks Skurvey. I agree that it would be best if people did their reaserch before buying something for their tanks. I had my mind set on this little guy but realized that the food required would cost more money than I can spend right now. With the live food, hard shelled foods to wear down the teeth, and eating my clean up crew. I couldnt do it right now maybe when I upgrade again I will use the 35 as a fish only and get one then.
A brittle star is definately some munchy crunchy yummyness - if he sees it! Sorry I missed this one Carmie - been busy moving! Anyway, cool fish, but I tell ya, when they are kept w/liverock their teeth don't generally need any other attention - they will hunt and pick things off rock and keep teeth worn in most cases - anyway I have never had to do with my puffies.......
