Angler Food?

Are ghost shrimp a healthly source of food for a small angler? I'd like to ween her onto frozen silversides but for now she's eating live ghost shrimp. If I'm unable to get her to eat frozen foods, will ghost shrimp be nutritious enough for her to be healthy?

Hello Merc and welcome to TR. My lion is sustained on marine minnows and ghost shrimp as he will eat nothing but live foods. I always make sure that the feeder foods are well fed before placing them in my DT for the lion. That way I know that he has the best possible nutrician available. I am not familiar with the angler species but am well versed in live feeder foods. I hope that this helps. Hopefully there are others here with knowledge on the care of anglers and can chime in with any other information that could be valuable to you.

Hello Merc and to TR. Like Lori I've not kept an angler but her advice on feeding the feeders well is good. Give them high quality food soaked in vitamins and feed right before you feed the angler.
