First off, I think it is "Melanurus". This should help you with additional searches or inquiries...
From what I know if them, they need a deeper sand bed to burrow in.
I've also felt that pretty much any wrasse is a candidate for becoming a "jumper". Do you have an enclosed hood, so that if it did jump, it'd most likely end up back in the tank? If not, you can use egg crate or something else on the tank top, like I did here:
