lions are absolutely beautiful fish. i had a zebra, antinata and volotin once. colors were stunning, bright reds, purple blues. too bad mines only ate live ghost shrimp.
i kept them for a 2 years and the sold them.
what are they? fuzzy? hehe i wanna get that red fish! can someone point me to the place wt more info? such as common names, and description... thanx
It's a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish (Dendrochirus brachypterus). They are very common and I always see them at the LFS. But I waited a year to get this one looking for the nice red color.

The Volitan is staring at me..... he's wondering why I featured the angler and the fuzzy and not him.
I haven't succeeded in getting this pose perfectly aligned yet. I'm hoping to capture it when he moves to the 24 gallon cube this week.... right now he is in a 6 gallon.
sorry to hijack but i am interested in d lions and i would like to know what inverts it wont eat and whether it matters what order you add it to the tank. like if i were to add a sohal it would be best to go last
hopefully, you've got a lot of room for that tang. i'd add the tang last. let the lion get good and settled.
the lion will eat any ornamental shrimp that fit into its mouth, as well as any fish that will. the rule of thumb is that tankmates should be at LEAST half the size of the lion.
our fuzzy currently resides with a few snails and a couple of scarlet hermits.
Hmmm... seems everyone is getting interested in scorpionfish eh.
I've decided that my new 29G is going to be a home for a fuzzmeister!! It will be the ONLY fish in there...methinks. I'm setting it up as we speak. I am just debating on whether to drill, or use a hang on type filter.
