Missing Watchman Goby

Hello all,

I recently added a Yellow Watchman Goby to the main display and after getting beat on by the Clowns a bit, he went and hid behind a rock.

The next day he was MIA. Its been a week now and he is a no-show. Any ideas on what my next steps should be?

I really don't want to pull out all my rocks looking for him. I have 85 lbs in a 37 gallon tank so that would be quite a chore. Is there a general break-in period for Watchman Gobys before they come out and let themselves be seen?

thanks!
-Matt

its not uncommon for small gobies to go missing for days
keep an eye on the tank, and examine the nooks and crannies carefully looking for some sign of it

Mine did the same.. I "coaxed" him/her into finding a new "den" in the front of the display by putting a smallish, cup shaped piece of LR in the front and perching it like a 'hut'. It made for a perfect cave/den for it and the rest is history.

Cool. I gotta find him first.

The first day he had gotten scared and ended up in the overflow box. I did some searching in the sump, but, nothing.

My water quality is good and I have been feeding the tank heavily just to be safe. So he shouldn't die on me if he is still alive.
