ok i'm trying to pick out a skimmer. i'll list 4. you guys pick the ones you would go with. and say why. do it from experience please of your own skimmers or knowledge of them. list any good sides of it and any bad sides if you have any. thanks.
1. aqua c ev180 w/ mag 7
2. euro-reef 100
3. aqua medic turbofloter t1000 w/ oceanrunner 2700
4. berlin classic XL w/ rio 3100
which would you guys pick. it seems i had my decision with a berlin. then something changed my mind. then the aqua medic. then aqua c. and now the euro reef. i know the aqua c and euro reef are very good. so now it comes to majority rules.
it will be plumbed on a 80 or 120 gal depending which one i choose. 80 lbs LR, haven't choosen the depth of the sand bed yet.
If I had the money I would get the Euroreef again, but I am very happy and will never get rid of my Aquac. I currently own a AquaC 120 on a 90Gal Reef.
i've had all those skiimmers and the only one i still use are EUROREEF. never never a AquaC again. BerlinXL is dificult to clean. I've had H&S, they are good, but i think not worth the extra money in this country. i think dollar for dallar, EUROREEF is king.
JR Aquatics, i know that are some people really happy with their AquaC skimmers, i just personally have bad experiences several times. and i just think that EUROREEF is much easier and faster to tune, and one you do it once, it seem to require very little attention. i was never able to calibrate AquaC to skim as dry any of my EUROREEFs.
im going to try and be patriotic next time round, and try an aussie built unit.
they are not any cheaper, but they are pumping alot of research into making them

veriann, can you tell us any more about aussie skimmers? perhaps brands, sizes and prices against german and american brands
You didn't mention the size of the system. I have had many skimmers over the years. I LOVE Euroreef. Had an ES5-3 for my 75G reef and now have a CS 6-2+ for the seahorse system.
