DSB question...

Okay...all you DSB people out there!!!!

I'm definitely planning on doing a DSB in my new refugium, but I was interested in finding out whether you proponents of DSB would also say that a DSB is necessary in the display as well. My concern is that my new system is so big that I have to put a snorkel on anyway in order to reach down to the bottom of the tank and I'm a little worried that due to size and feasibility of reaching everything that I might not being able to maintain the DSB perfectly. I really would like to have a DSB, because I also like the look of it and the possiblity for many more critters (gobies, sand stars, sea serpeants, cukes, etc.), but just wanted to hear what you guys have to say...

you can do it remotely if your refugium was large enough..

but to maintain it you really dont need to do much...
the method i have picked up from amphibious was to use a piece of rigid airline tubing and monthly, poke at the sand bed. as in, drive the tube to the bottom and pull it back out.. and do this all over the tank.
