Ok so I recently got an rodi system....the aquasafe one which many of you have. As I figured my water pressure is too low because I'm on well water so I'm going to have to get a booster pump. I basically just need someone to clarify which one I would need.
What confuses me a little is do I pick based on the what the membrane is rated for or on how many gallons or water I'm actually going to be making per day?
What type of aquasafe did you purchase? The maximus is the one i have which is rated for 100gpd but i don't have the pressure to run it at full capas. Do you know the water pressure you are pushing right now? I believe it needs to be 40psi? I can't remember its been to long lol
I'm pushing 25 psi which i get about 5 gallons per day.
Yea i have the same one as you. I hooked the pressure gauge directly up to our water and it read 42 psi, which actually seems pretty good for well water. My tds readings have been at a constant 3 for the last week or so. I'm trying to get them down to zero and i'm hoping a booster will do the job.
IMO, i would go with the 6800. You already have good pressure and the booster is adjustable up to 120. All you really need it 45-60 (i think) and you will be running par. The gentleman from aquasafe told me the perfect PSI but i can't remember.
Have you tried flushing the unit out? My unit raises to 2 about once every month and all i do is flush it out and it goes back down to 0.
Wish i could help you more, someone else will jump in soon.
I've only had my system installed for a little over a week....and It's been flushed out a couple of times since then when I've had to disconnect something....but the tds remains at 3.
hey megan.. glad to see you got one.. i have been using mine for years and love it...
the 6800 will be fine.. your water pressure is not that bad... your target is about 60-70 PSI, which is well within the range of that booster...

Thanks Rob! I was starting to get very confused there . One more question....on the page for the Aquatec 6800 it mentions using some kind of pressure switch valve or electronic shut off valve....will I need to get one of these as well?
Here is one the same guy has in his store
eBay: REVERSE OSMOSIS DI Aquatec Tank pressure switch 19.99 (item 250056683691 end time Apr-01-07 09:35:54 PDT)
that depends, are you filling a holding tank, or running it as needed..
if you are filling a holding tank of some type you want this.
this switch turns the booster pump off when the holding tank is full. other wise the booster will keep trying to push water through with no where for it to go

Since we are on the topic of booster pumps. Does anyone know where I can purchase a inline TDS meter for a generic made RO/DI unit online as well as replacement Membranes.
