i am designing my sump and i want to know if i can have baffles of different heights for a bubble trap. like basically baffles are like this right
well i was wondering if the bubble trapper would still work if i did it like this instead
with the right one shorter than the left one? because on the left side is my skimmer, which needs a highish waterlevel. and then on the right side of the bubble trap is the return pump, which doesnt need as high of a water level? so i was wondering if it still would get rid of bubbles if i did that?
so that doesnt effect the bubble reducing ability i am going to assume then..i just wanted to make sure because i think that i need all the tank overflow space ican get in my design and i think this will get me a good gallon
No, it will still act as a bubble "diffuser" of sorts, not really a trap per se.
I've also "angled" the outermost baffles (ones fixed to the bottom of the tank) so that the water doesn't spill over, but slides down the baffle, sort of like this "\".

this is a great suggestion, helps keep salt spray/creep down if you have a high flow sump

Were did you see that
That is basically used when you have the fuge flowing into the return chamber and you have 5+ inches difference in high between fuge and return chamber, other then that the 1" or so difference between the higher and the lower baffle wont make any difference
