asm skimmers

i went to asm skimmers website and it says that they will stop selling the skimmer. does this mean that it is not a good idea to buy the skimmer now. i wanted to upgrade my skimmer for an expected higher bioload. i dont want to spend 800 on a deltec but if i cant get the asm i will have to wait and get that one. thoughts?

Get a Euro-reef. Deltec is way overrated. Kind of like someone who tells you that a SAAB is the best car because it was started by aircraft engineers.

yea i hear alot of people talking about the rc series but i was also looking at the h&s skimmers which are 100 dollars less for approx. the same size. rc 250 model is 998 on md.com and the h&s is 899 for a 325 rated skimmer. what do you think?

You better look again. I own both Euro-Reef and H&S. There is no way that H&S is less expensive. Not by a long shot.

I just bought a G4x for 369.00 on another site. And it works great! Doing the gate valve mod is a must though, But it doesnt take much to do it.

i wanted an asm but the asm site says they dont sell them anymore so i was concerned that it might be difficult to find parts and things of that nature. i know they still sell them at online retailers but i was reluctant until i got some advice here

I am not sure, but I dont think that ever was the officia ASM site. I am guessing they were just a dealer.

My favorite lfs sells ASM's and thinks they are the greatest. I don't have anything to base an opinion on so I can't speak to the skimmer but I trust this store.
