Wwest, my dear friend your going to notice that your
skimmer is going to go crazy for a week or two after having treated for the Red Slime Algea. I had this problem after doing the same treatment. What you will want to do is very small water changes every other day which is a pain but will definitely help in getting the Seaclone Protein
Skimmer to behave properly again. Also before you modify your protein
skimmer why don't you try cutting the flex-tubing to a shorter length. The Micro-bubbles will subside if you do this and tweak the air vavle to allow more air into the
skimmer. The Seaclone is definitely a misunderstood
skimmer the requires constant adjustment but does the job just fine in my opinion. Another thing you may want to try is placing it within you
sump and connecting the Powerhead that comes with the unit directly to the bottom opening in order to increase flow into the
skimmer by bypassing the J-tube.
If you want proof that it work look at the photographs included within my thread titled 29 gallon Nano Due to Job Loss and you'll see a photograph of the
skimmer filled with crude only after 1 hour of operation but after 1 hour of fine tuning.
LOL
