waste water is dependent on the water pressure that u have available and the temperature of the water. 2-3 times waste water per gallon produced is common.

yeah, a lot people use it for their garden. how to store the waste water? also over time, the water may be too rich in certain minerals.

I save our waste water in a 55 gallon plastic barrel next to the cloths washer and the wife uses it for filling the initial wash cycle.

yes, i have heard of the same thing. plants love the excess nutrients and mineral (IE, which is why its so good for growing algae)

what units do you folks use. im assuming units where you can buy the replacement filters and membranes from home depot are the best bet right.

there are a lot of silicates in our water here, so a lot of folks eventually end up with a KENT Hi-S or Hi-S Maxxima. i don't know what is special with the membrane, but it does hold a patent and all my friends swear by it.......including those who already own one from HD.

pham,

Here's a link to the unit I bought. I think Rob has this unit also, maybe others here on TR. I personally wouldn't spend more because the components are the same. The most important component is the RO membrane. The best is TFC membranes made with material from DOW Chemical. This unit has that membrane. It works for me.
