just wonderinging if this is a good rodi unit. HERE
if you have a suggestion on a good ro unit please post your suggestions.
i never had an ro unit and always bought my water so i have no experience with home units. do ro units waste water in any way when making rodi water?
waste water is dependent on the water pressure that u have available and the temperature of the water. 2-3 times waste water per gallon produced is common.
can waste water still be used? lets say to water my lawn?
I save our waste water in a 55 gallon plastic barrel next to the cloths washer and the wife uses it for filling the initial wash cycle.

so is this unit ok. it looks alittle expensive to me http://cgi.ebay.com/Reef-Master-Reve...QQcmdZViewItem
what units do you folks use. im assuming units where you can buy the replacement filters and membranes from home depot are the best bet right.
there are a lot of silicates in our water here, so a lot of folks eventually end up with a KENT Hi-S or Hi-S Maxxima. i don't know what is special with the membrane, but it does hold a patent and all my friends swear by it.......including those who already own one from HD.

whoa those are pricy, and only 60gpd. hmm must be exelent quality or something.
ne other suggestions. i think i need to get a tds meter also.
Here's a link to the unit I bought. I think Rob has this unit also, maybe others here on TR. I personally wouldn't spend more because the components are the same. The most important component is the RO membrane. The best is TFC membranes made with material from DOW Chemical. This unit has that membrane. It works for me.
