EcoMods Maxijet Mod

At the RMRC frag swap a few weeks ago i found a great pre-built maxijet mod by Ecomods for $20. The mod is the same as those discussed on reefvideos, and other DIY sites. Out of the box, this is what comes with the Ecomod:

Everything is nicely machined and ready to go. It already has a lock built in to prevent the prop from spinning backwards, so it wont turn into a fish blender. It is also balanced correctly to prevent the prop from banging around inside the shroud. The bonus: it increases the flow from a MJ by 10x!

As you can see from the pic, the Ecomod already has the magnet, shaft, prop, and shroud. All you have to do is remove the impeller and magnet from your MJ, insert the Ecomod, turn to lock it on, and you are ready to go!

One catch, however, is that you can no loner use the clips that come with the MJ1200. You can still use the suction cups, but after hearing everyone's problems with those, i don't suggest that idea. However, you can make a simple brace with a piece of acrylic, a blow torch, and a zip tie.

Cut the acrylic into a strip and use the blow torch to heat up sections of it. Bend the warmed sections to form a clip. The top of this one is horizontal since my tank has euro-braces around the edge. The white thing behind the pump is a slice of stryofoam wrapped in plastic to cut down on the vibrations. When the side of the moded pump touches the glass, you will be able to hear it in the next room!

Does it work? Just look at this surface agitation:

I saw these previously demonstrated at a local swap, and for 20 dollars it's one of the cheapest ways to get massive amounts of flow. I was really stunned with what they can do. Three 600's with these and anything under about 75 gallons should be way above your needs.

There's another company i saw that makes these same things, only there's come with a hanger attachment for suction cups/magnets. I'd recommend these as a quick and easy solution to flow problems.
