Maxijet Mod

If you haven't seen this thread before I suggest you take a look. You can build your own Tunze style powerhead with less than $20. I did and it works like a champ.

yep.. i saw it...
it looks like a good idea.. but the last time i looked at it (a month or so ago) there were still problems with it..

looks like a great mod if you like to fiddle with things..
personally, i think i am going to be moving to more of a closed loop system

no... not really..

a closed loop is a system where water is pulled in through a large pump and immediately shot back into the tank....

think of a big powerhead, but instead of the regular spout, you attached pipes and stretched down the length of your tank, with many nozzles pointing in many directions...

that's a closed loop..

now the SCWD would come into play as a way to switch between two spray bars or pipes of some kind in your loop..
