My DIY Power Station

Heya all,

Just wanted to share what I did for my "power station" in my tank. I did a lot of research and was about to build one with outlets that you find on the DIY formums around. The I found these Power Panel. I like them cause they were near, professional, not a big rat nest of wires and best of all they are about $18 give or take.

So I purchased three of them and I mounted them in some 2" X 3" lumber. Then I took the whole thing and mounted that to the inside of my stand (DIY also) with big old brass door hinges. I used the hinges, because I wanted to be able to get the switches to turn things on and off and I wanted to be able to easily get at the back of the units to plug things in.

Well anyways here are the photos. DIY Power Station (sideways view)

If I am/was not clear on something, just ask.

Thanks,

John

Wow, I really like that idea.
Nice and clean, especially the way you mounted them.
And the switches are lighted also?
Are they surge protectors?
Very nicey done.

yes the switches are light up. I think they have silver units with blue lights (like mine) and black units with red lights. They are not on a surge supresser, but split up between 2 20amp dedicated circuits with ground fault tolerant outloets in the wall.
