If you wire up a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interupter) Make sure you follow the directions closely. You may not be able to tell which wires are your load and which ones are the line. They are usually not marked. Best bet would be to hook it up test it and if it doesn't work swap the wires. I put one in a month ago as a suggestion from my Pop who used to be an Electrical Contractor. My bothers an electrician too and he says the same. He also said that this wiring setup here is not within any NEC(National Electric Code) and if it does cause a fire, God Forbid , it may or may not be covered by insurance. If someone plans to do this mod, ( which I think loooks great BTW) make sure you use the plastic rework boxes as suggested by billyr98 just to be on the safe side.
