ok as most of you know this is my first batch of home brewed phyto. i have a few in regards to look and stuff..
ok i cant get the video to upload but i will as soon as i can..
1. if you look at the video you will see the system i have setup. now bottles 2 and 3 are ones i started yesterday. with miracle grow. now i noticed on those they already have phyto forming on the bottom of the canister. is that to soon for that to form?
2. bottle 4 is the one i split today. and i also used miracle grow on it as well. it is already darker then the bottles 2 and 3. does anyone know a reason why?
3. There is alot of stuff "floating" around in the inside of the bottles i am assuming that is the phyto and nothing bad.
4. Is there a way to test the phytos before i split them again since this will be my first miracle grow split? Do you test them with the basic tank levels? Ca, P04, Alk and stuff like that?
yep, that stuff is normal, as long as there is not ALOT and the water turns yellow..
for the rest of the stuff
1. this is dead stuff, wont "always" happen, but small amounts are ok
2. not sure, maybe the miracle grow, never used the stuff, maybe a stronger mixture.
3. just make sure its properly filtered when you do your next split, failure to do this will cause future crashes.
4. not really needed, most of that stuff is taken up by the phyo, and when adding to your tank, it wont be in large enough quantities to mess with anything

but rob, is this the way we are heading with this site! question after question on the same topics? if this is the case i would cut back any post after 2 months to save on server space!

no, veriann, the intention is not to answer the same questions time after time.
infact, one of my objectives is to take common questions and make show out of them, something me and Wes are currently working on.
he has alot of questions that come up often, so im going to try and get them into a show.
going forward, if there are posts like this where the question has already been answered, please feel free to posts reference links. i know that searching through forums for stuff your not sure exists can be hard, but if "we" know it's there, its a bit easier to find..
as for the bubble count in #4, it might be a bit strong, but i dont think its over kill.
a strong rolling boil is the objective, anything less will cause more settling and die off like what he is getting in the noted containers. i think it "looks" more because on the other containers the air tubing is in the back of the container, not the front

i beleive you, i not taking it as related to me as much. i have tried to find my answers on the forum and i have watched the phyto video more times than i can count. i very well could be over looking something but i just cant pin point it. i do agree with what you are saying, however in my opinion threads get very long and very hard to follow if you have no idea what they are talking. i stand nutruel against multiple threads retaining the same info. I would say it is better to ask again than to give up or let the issue in hand go any further than it needs too.. i do catch myself posting the same info. but everyone searches for detailed answers in there own way.. but what do i know. im just a mouse on a wheel

another good point to bring up, becuase i went through it. soemtiems peoepl are unsure when gettin ginto DIY, and arent the best at adjsuting the "formula, or method" to there own situation.
as this stie grows, we will continue to get more repeated questions, its just normal evolution. hopefully i can tackle alot of them in the audio shows, and more lsinter Q&A, roundtable, adn skypecast style shows..

I'm using the Miracle-Gro and it almost seems like it splits faster. I do notice the same thing as far as one bottle getting darker than the other, I made the same assumption Rob did (slightly stronger mix?) I set a bit of settling on the bottom of mine too, I don't think its's dead though, I think I need a stronger air pump/bubble. For now I've been shaking up the bottles once a day.
