As some of you know I recently moved to AZ from CA. We just had one of those famous AZ down pours. About 2" in the last hour. I would of loved to go outside and look at the river behine our house but the lighting was over head and I was to chicken. Oh it's a great evening to sit and watch one of my coral RTN right before my eyes.
RTN was happening right before your eyes??? What do you suppose caused that? The move?

Yes the move. I have been working on getting my new tank stable for 2 weeks now. Its my soft ball size porcilliapora. I really don't want to chop it a part. What would I do with that many frags? I really don't know any reefers here yet. And shipping cost way to much. So I just may cut back the bleached part and hope it stops. What are your thoughts on it?
If you could provide a picture, I'd better be able to give you an answer. My first thoughts are to cut the bleached part off BUT, sometimes the bleached part (if there is tissue) will come back.

Are you sure it's RTN? Pocillipora are notorious for "polyp bail". Mine do that even if just from swings in salinity. I've found that if no algae grows on the calcerous skeleton, it may repopulate. I also have them growing all over my tank now as the polyps jumps ship and move to another surface.
Pocillopora are also brooding corals and often will release planula that settle out and grow in tanks. They are one of the corals that Project DIBS is working with.
I have sent Brian some in the past and also Eric. My tank raised babys. Its not polyp bail out the tissue is coming off and there is nothing left under it. I'll try to get a picture of it in a bit. So you can all share in my dismay..lol
Well I will not be sending any pictures soon. In the move I seemed to of lost the cord to my camera. And right before I left my computer crashed so I had to get a new one. I just relized it does not have a place for a card. I may look like I'm taking this well. But none of you can see me stomping around the house in a huff.
Don't you find it amazing that as ubiquitous as media cards are that a computer would come without a reader? If you don't come across your camera cord you could pick up a card reader that plugs into the USB port of your computer. It would probably cost less than a new cord. (I mention this since there are things that I can't find 14 years after we moved )
Well I order a cord over the web and got it in two days for only 7.95 + shipping. As soon as I got it I found my other cord.lol I really miss my nano. But I know this tank will be much better. Its doing really well. Had a little HA but thats gone now clear as a bell. And my corals are really starting to grow.
