Where to place anemone

My anemone came in! It is a rose BTA who had already taken up residence on a piece of rock. So, I bought the rock too. I am acclimating it right now.

For the last little while my maroon clown has been doing this weird behavior where he wiggles his tail and fans up the sand. Although I know the anemone may not stay where I put it would it be a good idea to locate it now where the clown is fanning? Would that make my clown more likely to host? My previous idea was to put the anemone in the cleft of the rock that the clown likes to sit in but I don't think that will work with it attached to the size of rock its chosen.

you can try to place it where you want, make sure its well lit and has good indirect current. if you put in a good spot, it might stay.

as for placing by the clown, you can try that, but again, it may not stay.
it might get it to host in there, but im not sure

Look for a spot where it can get its foot into a hole. My experience has been that they like to have a well lit area, but also somewhere to retract out of the light.
If you have any LPS, be ready to move them around if the BTA starts wandering. I almost lost a Cynarina to my first BTA. It did recover though.

Well he was already "stuck" to pocket in a rock. I have placed it about mid-tank in all dimensions. This puts it 10 -12 inches below the water line, the light is on 4" legs. Anyhow even as I write this, 30 mins after putting the anemone in the take the clown is hosting. Yeah! Pix tomorrow after the water clears from me rearranging the aquascape.

Very lucky. It took my clown a good week or so to host in my anemone. I found that my anemone will go where it whants, but likes to have a good safe foot old on something. The only anemone in my tank that I moved was my carpet. When I got it, it was attached to the same rock as my BTA, but moved it to the other side of the tank in hopes to get a 2nd clown to host in it.
