Could I get some feedback from people who have kept Flame Angels in reef tanks with alot of acropora? I am trying to gauge how risky it would be to add a flame angel to a tank densely populated with acropora.

I feed and skim my tank very heavily, will this help keep the angel from eating coral?

too risky in my opinion. done it and regretted it. flames are also know to favor clam mantles.

i have 1 in my 75g. it nips on everything but not so much where it will destroy anything. well i cant speak for all flames but mines is ok in my tank. usually health flame angles nip on everything, i think thats how they are in the wild.

many dwarf angels are considers reef cautious..
and many people keep them without major incident..

for me, im with walrus..
im not up for the risk. i try to keep things i know are very likely to be reef safe.

I've got one - have had him for 1.5 years now. He hasn't bothered any of the SPS corals. He does kind of nip around at things, but I don't see him actively nipping away at anything. He seems to be content with what I feed him.

He's lovely to watch in the tank. He's always swimming around and doesn't seem to be shy, unlike my larger angel who is the biggest wuss you've ever seen!
