View Full Version : Prodibio Suppliments pham411 05-16-2006, 11:18 PM hey yall,
has anyone used prodibio products? tell us your testmonies, like it or not.
im thinking of trying this product but i wanna get some more feedback before i try it.
latez fat walrus 05-17-2006, 12:09 AM if you wanna be the test subject, go for it. i'll be watching. 8251Reefer 05-17-2006, 12:11 AM I have used the reef booster product and it has really increased the overall color and growth of all of my corals. Robsreef.com is a 20 minute drive from my house so I gave it a try about a month and a half ago...I am putting way more reefbooster than I am suppose to be dosing because they come in "GLASS" tubes (ampoules) and can't easily be saved for later use. The company states you can stick one end into a potato and save it that way but I decided to use a whole tube. You can read more about the stuff on his site forum.... pham411 05-17-2006, 05:29 AM nice, ive heard it has no real negative side effect and the cost is suprizingly cheaper that zeo. pham411 05-18-2006, 12:43 AM if you wanna be the test subject, go for it. i'll be watching.
i plan to order some time next week. i shall log everything and give yall a TR exclusive ;)..... Reefbaby 05-20-2006, 04:51 PM Cool - can't wait to here pham411! I've been pretty interested in this stuff as well! trythechi 05-21-2006, 03:53 AM Ive been using biodigest, trace and booster for 5 months now and remain impressed. O no3 and po4 - no algae - great Polip extention and coloration is much improved.
I'm going to switch to Zeo basic 4 in a month or so to compare both systems.
Here are a couple of before /after pics. The first in Nov 05 before and the second 6 weeks later
Cheers
Simon Reefbaby 05-21-2006, 06:37 AM Wow! Nice pink coloring! How long did you have it before dosing with Prodibio? trythechi 05-21-2006, 06:41 AM Thanks
At that stage of the second photo - 6 weeks IIRC - that coral is much bigger now after another 3 months - I can post an image just yet - trying to get the file size down:oops:
Cheers
Simon Reefbaby 05-21-2006, 06:48 AM simon - photobucket allows for re-sizing...just a tip. or you can do it yourself in photoshop under image size...

Hi RB - he just happens to live there - actually retired and married to a Norwegian who still works in Oslo now and again.
Here are some pics of my prodibio tank - like I say, no where near as good as Iwans, but its arround 32 weeks old.
Cheers
SImon CarmieJo 05-22-2006, 08:56 PM Simon,
Beautiful tank! Reefbaby 05-23-2006, 12:38 PM Beautiful coloring Simon! Only 32 weeks old?? Wow! How long did you cycle? Did you cycle the tank with prodibio? Is that a ceramic reef or just a big hunk of rock? Looks fabulous! trythechi 05-23-2006, 01:23 PM Thanks Cj and RB
The tank was 10 weeks old when I discovered Iwan's method and started dosing prodi. Arround 40kgs came from my old tank at week one and I used all 180ltrs water from the old tank so it didnt really need to cycle although there was th eusual algae succession.
The rock on the back wall is made from fiberglass - as I wanted as much free swimming space as possible ans space for some caves and islands. Its blended in quite well with the LR now as coraline algae corals sponges and polips have grown all over.
Here's the story on a British forum which shows how I attached the fibreglass. http://www.reefpark.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=14927
Cheers
Simon trythechi 05-23-2006, 01:27 PM A couple of pics showing just the fibreglass and then the blend of fibre glass and LR before I started stocking with sps: trythechi 05-23-2006, 01:32 PM Another from the sidefrom a month ago showing some growth. Thanks to Prodi I have had no trouble at all with algae even after taking off the Rowaphos. Reefbaby 05-23-2006, 05:03 PM That's a pretty cool idea with the fiberglass. I've never heard of that. Is that what they use in some of the public aquariums in order to make the display interesting until natural coralline takes over? CarmieJo 05-23-2006, 09:29 PM Simon,

Hi FW
Here is a photo from the side showing the depth of the fibreglass rock attached to the back wall.
The yellow sponge and other things have adhered no problems.
Cheers
Simon fat walrus 05-27-2006, 05:17 AM thank you trythechi. the last picture sure did fill in a lot of blanks. it is looking real good. please give more updates when available Reefbaby 05-27-2006, 06:02 AM hey trythechi - I'm really liking the look of that fiberglass backwall.
In my first tank setup, i had started out with a back wall with material like this (http://www.atoll-riff-deko.de/atoll_riff_produkt.html), but I felt that because it was so 3-dimensional, the top portion completely blocked out the light for the bottom half. I couldn't really grow anything in the crevices because of this. The other problem was that it was a debris trap behind the wall and caused a lot of algae problems. But, that's why I think your fiberglass wall is so cool...you've glued it to the glass, so it's not sitting on the ground and blocking and flow...it's also not covering the entire back wall. pretty cool....do you have a link to where you can get this stuff? trythechi 05-28-2006, 05:47 AM ....do you have a link to where you can get this stuff?
